Oliech:We played our best,we were just unlucky

Captain Dennis Oliech
By Fred Maing

Harambee Stars captain Dennis Oliech believes Harambee Stars have a bright future given more time to bond together.
Oliech said their match against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana served as a climbing ladder for the upcoming players adding that it was a learning lesson.
He said the team will pick up from what they had learned from their experienced opponents to prepare for the forthcoming regional Cecafa tournament and the Chan tournament.
Speaking after the final whistle at the Nyayo National Stadium after the team went down fighting 2-1, Oliech had special praise for the home team saying they played with purpose and great determination in the entire match.
‘It’s unfortunate  we lost the match. We were  playing against an experienced team that has been together for a longer period  compared to us.They have  good organization and better facilities and so, I believe we gave our best “ said Oliech.
“Our visitors, added Oliech, were coming  from a  big friendly match against Poland. They played several high profile friendly matches against tough teams like Brazil and so , they were psychologically prepared than us”
The France based player pleaded with Kenya football administrators to organize friendly matches for Harambee Stars so that they can expose most of the upcoming players, and gain more experience...
He said he was happy with the team’s performance during the night and called on Kenyan’s to continue rallying behind the team and the new coach.
“We have a new coach who needs time to gel with the team.He told us during our training session that we don’t have to win, or lose but build a strong momentum to guide us through the future “said he.
The AJ Auxierre striker made his presence felt by converting Kenya’s lone goal from the spot in the second half after a Bafana Bafana player handled the ball in the danger zone.
