Harambee Stars might play Zambia and CoteD`Ivore

By Fred Maingi
Kenya’s national soccer  team Harambee Stars could play two more high-profiled international friendly matches against Zambia  and Cote D'Ivoire ahead of their CHAN first leg match against Burundi in December.
Football Kenya Federation(FKF) Chairman Sam Nyamweya told a press conference in Nairobi that talks are at an advanced stage  for the two countries to honour Kenya’s invite  for high profile friendly matches.
Kenya is scheduled to take on Bafana Bafana of South Africa in what is expected to be an explosive friendly match, on Tuesday October 16  at the Nairobi’s  Nyayo National Stadium.
The team however received a major boost after team captain Dennis Oliech and Scotland based  Celtic FC midfielder Victor Mugubi joined the  team ahead of Tuesday’s friendly match.
The team further received a  major boost with the confirmation that Israel-based midfielder Patrick Osiako will be available for the clash after all.
Hapoel Be’er Sheva, the club that Osiako plies his trade for, had refused to release him for the match since they had not received a request from the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) but it took the intervention of a top FKF official who communicated directly with the club to have Osiako released.
However, doubts surrounds  the availability of Tanzania based midfielder Jerry Santos. His club Coastal Union of Tanga  have declined to release him.
FKF Chairman Sam Nyamweya has however threatened to take the matter to the World governing soccer body(Fifa) if the Tanzania club fails to release him for the high profile build up match that will count a lot in the Fifa soccer rankings.
