GorMahia were just lucky-Muhoroni Coach says

Muhoroni Coach Imonje
By Fred Maingi
Muhoroni Youth head coach Alfred Imonje has attributed his team’s  elimination from  the  Football Kenya Federation(FKF) Cup owing to lack of experience among their players .
He said his players exposed their lack of experience when it came to taking spot kicks where they could only convert two out of  four.
He however lauded his players for showing brilliant football where they managed to contain Gor Mahia in all departments.
During the match , Gor eliminated Muhoroni youth 4-2 through the dreaded spot kicks after both teams battled to a barren draw during the normal regulation time.
‘Gor were just lucky. When it comes  to penalties, any team can win  and today, Gor were just  the lucky side.In terms of ball possession, I believe nobody can dispute that it was a balanced affair. We managed to contain them and our midfield and defence was far much better than our opponents. We were just let down by poor finishing” said  Imonje
The former Somalia National soccer team tactician said he had instructed his players to cut off Gor twin strikers Rama Salim and speedy Dan Sserunkuma out of the game, a move that worked in our favour.
He said he was delighted that his team has bowed out of the annual FKF tournament with his heads raised high adding that he was satisfied if his players can stay together and bond for a longer period next season, he can grab headlines only for the good reason.
Regarding their survival in the Tusker Premier League (TPL), Imonje said he only needs three points .
‘I only need three points and I can assure you, we shall still be around in the League come next season.I know I will defeat Tusker on October 24 here in Nairobi in our next match since I know, Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards fans will be rooting for my team.If I can win one more match, I know I will be around in the top flight football come next year”said Imonje.
Meanwhile Bidco United wound up their coastal tour on a winning note after defeating Spark Youth by a solitary goal in a nationwide division one league match played at KPA Mbaraki Sports Club. Smarting from a barren draw with Bandari on saturday at the same venue, Bidco scored the all important goal in the 26’th min through Antony Kimani.
Bidco are placed second on the log with 61 points, nine behind league leaders Bandari and with a game in hand.
In other matches played on sunday, Coast United registered a narrow 1-0 lead over Ligi Ndogo at Tudor day ground while Magongo Rangers were awarded a walk over after Kibera Celtic failed to show up at Refinery ground in changamwe . This is the second consecutive match Kibera Celtic have forfeited points after they failed to show up  at Tudor Day against Admiral.
