Gor Mahia moves on top of TPL after silencing AFC Leopards 2-1

Gor Mahia  went to the top of the Tusker Premier League(TPL)  for the
first time this year  with 46 points after defeating their arch rivals
 AFC Leopards 2-1 in a  well attended clash of the titans staged at
the 60,000 seater Moi International Sports centre(MISC) Kasarani on

   The man of the match was Uganda born Dan Sserunkuma  who netted a
brace in the 14th and 36th minute  with brilliant trikes that
overwhelmed AFC Leopards  custodian Patrick Matasi.
   The first goal was a defensive mix-up in Leopards   goal  with
Jonas Nahimana  being the biggest culprit while  the second was an
individual effort when he released a rasping shot from 20 metres to
hit the roof.The goal almost brought down  the roof with Gor Mahia
fans  celebrating in the pitch lighting fire.
     AFC Leopards scored their consolation goal in the 57th minute
through Mike Barasa after he beat Chris Wekesa  to plant  the ball on
the far right past Gor custodian  Jerim Onyango.
  Despite  the win, Gor  will count themselves lucky. While Gor
enjoyed large  chunks of the first half, it was AFC Leopards who took
charge of the second half forcing numerous  scoring chances.
    Twice, Leopards hitman Allan Wanga missed two clear chances with
'Ingwe" fans yelling for  a goal.Again in the 73rd minute, Martin
Imbalambala  failed to tap home  Bernard Mangoli's  cross  with a
yawning net infront of him.
      Gor now  goes  to the top of the  Log  with 46 points , one
point ahead of second placed  Tusker  who are tying with  Leopards
on 45 points.     .
