Police in Kenya are looking for a director of a cable TV channel operating in Nairobi for alleged fraud and forgery.
Officers at the Kilimani police station have obtained a warrant to arrest Mr Sachin Shaha for alleged forgery of government document to defraud.
He is also being investigated for alleged fraud of Sh10 million from the South Keyboll Television Network Limited.
Police obtained a warrant from Kibera Law Courts after Shaha failed to turn up for summons. Charges leveled on him state that he forged a document purporting it to be from the deputy registrar of companies at Sheria House.
He is said to have forged the document on November 7, 2011. He is also accused of forging documents purporting them to be minutes of directors of the company and signed by his co-director Mansukhal Hirani.
Shaha is also accused of stealing Sh10 million from the company and presented forged minutes to High Court judge justice Mabeya on April 14, 2011.
Kilimani CID boss Harison Meme said they are yet to get the suspect but efforts to trace him are ongoing.
Other police sources indicated Shaha has flown back to Kenya from India and efforts to arrest him were ongoing.
“We are informed he came back on Saturday but we are yet to know where he is for now. We are trying to get more,” said an informed source.
