Raila still leads in Ifotrak Presidential Opinion Polls.

Kenay`s Prime Minister Mr Raila Odinga still leads in the Presidential polls if they were held today according to an opinion poll conducted by the Infotrak Research and consulting company released on Friday,June 29 in Nairobi Kenya.

Odinga during the polls conducted between May,17 and May 19 this year polled 35 percent,followed by the Deputy Prime Minister Mr Uhuru Kenyatta with 17.3 percent while former Cabinet Minister Mr.William Ruto got 9.9 percent in the polls.



Other Presidential hopefuls like Vice-President Mr.Kalonzo Musyoka got 8.8 percent, another Deputy Prime Minster Mr.Musalia Mudavadi had 8.5 percent,former Cabinet Minister Ms Martha Karua 3.9 percent,Assistant Minister for Planning Mr.Peter Kenneth 2.0 percent,and Constitutional Affairs Minister Mr. Eugine Wamalwa acquired 1.7 percent.8.8 percent of respondents were undecided on whom to vote for.

In the highlights released by Infotrak CEO Ms Angela Ambitho it emerged that Mudavadi was the preffered alternative Presidential candidate for candidates Odinga,Kenyatta,Musyoka,Kenneth and Wamalwa.  
                                                                                                                                                                        


ODM party emerged as still the most popular party among Kenyans followed by Wiper Democratic party and Party of National Unity in that order.

On the issues Kenyans want to be addressed by the two Principals in the Coalition President Kibaki and Prime Minister Mr Raila Odinga Implementation of the new constitution topped followed by issue of insecurity and violence.


Issue of high cost of living came third followed by unemployment especially among youth and Tribalism.
Other issues they want the two Principals who formed a coalition Government after the disputed 2007 Presidential elections are Tribalism,Economic growth,settlement of Internally Displaced people,political instability,poor infrastructure and power shortage,civic education on elections and constitution,Food insecurity and price control.






Popularity of several Presidential hopefuls had dropped in the last one month.They include Odinga by 7.3 percent,Kenyatta by 4.3 percent and Martha Karua by 1.3 percent.Those whose popularity has increased include Ruto by 5.0 percent and Mudavadi by 3.7 percent.


Karua was according to the polls the popular running mate other than a Presidential candidate for the Presidential hopefuls.
Top five Presidential candidates showed that they control their regions apart from Mudavadi who in Western Province was beaten by Prime Minister Odinga.
