 Film on disputed Kenyan elections Screened in Nairobi.

A film on Kenya`s disputed 2007 elections which left at least 1 500 dead and more than 500 000 uprooted from their homes was screened at a Nairobi hotel on Wednesday,June 27.
The Presidential results which were announced by then Electoral Commission of Kenya Chairman Mr.Samuel Kivuitu showing that President Kibaki of PNU had beaten his closest rival Mr.Raila Odinga now the Prime Minister saw Kenya which was seen as more peaceful in the region engulfed by war,poverty and unstable Governments.
The film which is called Brother time and revolving around a relationship between two neighbors whose friendship turns to conflict as ethnic passions threaten to engulf them.
Struggles over power and land going back to colonial times are crytalized during the voting,when allegations of rigging erupt into widespread violence.The film is directed by Wesley Shrum who has been Professor of Sociology at Louisiana state University since 1982 and has worked in Kenya since 1994.A Kenyan Dr.Paul Mbatia is a co-producer of the film and Chair of Sociology at the University of Nairobi (UON) which is one of the largest academic departments in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Principal Cast in the film are Joseph Wainaina,Thomas Mutai,Ellis Njoka,Reverend Ngure,Japheth Ruto,Eliud Omolo and Paul N.Mbatia.
Supporting cast in the film consists of Enos Njeru,John Boit,David Langat,Joyce Okumu,Moses Onchiri and Isaac Tarus.Others are Edward Pretet,Ricahrd Mulwa and David Osiani.
